Isobel Reid

I have been a stenomask Court Reporter with Steno Exact since the spring of 1998. In the ten years previous to that I gained experience in the field of Court Stenography as a dictatypist.

My work involves mostly out of court depositions, but there have been a couple of unusual highlights: In October 2009, as part of McGill University’s Leadership Summit, I was honoured to be the Official Stenographer of a speech given by former U.S. President Bill Clinton after he was awarded an honorary Doctor of Laws degree. I have also taken the stenographic notes during a standing committee meeting of the Senate on Transport and Communications.

This is a very detail-oriented, fast-pace profession; it can be challenging and frustrating at times but is always interesting and I feel very fortunate to be able to be part of the Steno Exact team.
